I’m BAAACK!

First off, I apologize for not blogging in forever. But I have been pretty busy with stuff since getting back home to America. For those of you who haven’t caught up with me personally, here is a quick timeline of what has been going on, what I’ve been doing, and what I plan on doing before I leave next season. Enjoy…

Where to start… The season ended back in late April. We lost the last game, but it was a good team effort if I can remember right. Our last game was on a Saturday night, I had Sunday and Monday to clean/pack up then it was off to Boston that Tuesday. I spent 2 days in Boston, and it was great to see some old teammates and friends. It turns out the 2 days I was there were the last 2 days of the semester, so everyone was out having a good time — which was nice to see. Special shoutouts to my man Guy… Taylor Gang! Also shoutout to Van Nest, who hooked me up with a pair of the Hare Jordan 1′s while I was in town. I also came up on a pair of Neon Air Max 95′s, which was a nice surprise.

So I was in Boston for two crowded, long days, then it was finally time to go home to LA! My flight took off late afternoon on Thursday afternoon, and got me into LA around 8:30 PM. It was amazing to just step off the plane and know that I was truly home again, and my family was waiting for me at the gate. Funny story — I’m a pretty shy guy, but the girl next to me on the plane struck up a conversation with me. Of course her first question was if I played basketball, and it turns out she is Jim Calhoun’s niece. Small world. It was cool to hear about her going to games, and knowing guys like Rudy Gay and Markus Williams.

After getting back to LA, it was pretty much time to play catch up with my friends. My boy Walter had just come back from his first season in Mexico, and my best friend Zach works in LA, so it was good for the 3 of us to go out and catch up. First stop was the Cheesecake Factory on Friday afternoon. Can’t remember what I ordered, but safe to say it was a lot of food, and was good!

After the weekend, it was off to Vegas on a little mini vacation. I got a suite at the MGM Grand for the week, and can honestly say it was the most relaxing time I’ve ever had. I pretty much slept, and relaxed and just overall chilled. For the most part I stayed away from the roulette wheel, but it got me a little ;) . I was also proud of myself from staying away from the Forum Shops at Caesars for most of the week I was there. — We’ll see if I can use as much self control next time I am in Vegas for a long period of time…

One of the days I was there I was able to catch up with my old teammate, Jeremy Lin, who was out in Vegas working out with Impact — where I’ll be in 3 or 4 weeks. Jeremy has been working hard to get ready to pursue his pro career (along with another teammate of mine, Doug Miller) so best of luck to both of them!

Since coming back from Vegas, it has pretty much been back to the workout grind. I got a membership at a local sports club, and have been in there pretty religiously for the past 2 weeks. I also just started doing supplemental workouts with kettle bells — NO JOKE!! At last check, I had put on 5 pounds of muscle since coming back from Germany, so hopefully I can keep it up!

I’m actually posting this blog from San Diego, on the last of my relaxing trips for awhile. But when I get back to LA tomorrow afternoon/evening, it’s right back to work! I am going to slowly get back into the basketball workouts, and keep up the strength ones to get the full range of what I feel needs to be done. I had a very interesting conversation with my agent/good friend, and it is our joint goal for me to be player of the year in whatever league I am placed in next season. I am doing my part by working my tail off… so now he just needs to get me placed already! (There is absolutely no rush, but it would make my summer MUCH less stressful…)

I guess that’s it for now… now that I am back into the swing of things here at home, I can blog more about anything and everything that’s going on… until next time, I’ll leave you with a great song I’ve been listening to pretty religiously, from Pac Div’s new mixtape, “Don’t Mention It” -
