Shopping Week/Injury Update

This week has been a long one… It kicked off with practice Sunday morning, after our loss to Dartmouth, continued with the start of classes on Wednesday and continues tonight with our game against Penn and tomorrow with our game against Princeton. This week has also been a huge one for me, because I have been trying to get back in shape as much as possible. I have finally been cleared by the team doctor to play, but now I just need to get back into playing shape. To do this, I have been participating in the team workouts and practices, as well as lifting on my own as well as sprinting on my own after practice in my dorm. I’ll post the workouts that I am doing a little later… In order to stay motivated and focused, I have this video downloaded on my computer that I watch at least 3 times daily… It stars Matt Scott, who is a wheelchair athlete at a school in Wisconsin, and was born with Spina Bifida. It is truly an inspirational video, one that I have shared with alot of my friends when they don’t want to work out… well, here it is.

In other news, I have been listening to a lot of underground LA artists, and here is my new song of the day (more like week) from a guy named C-San, and reminds me of home…

By the way, I will do my best to keep this updated a lot more frequently, I got a lot of positive feedback from my first blog… let me know if you all like it!

The End of Finals!

Well, I just finished finals yesterday, which couldn’t have come at a better time. Now with all the academic stuff behind me, I can focus completely on rehabbing my knee and trying to get better everyday. We don’t have school again for another week or so, so I can spend as much time as I want in the gym and in the weight room. One of my friends from home and I made the same New Years resolutions — to work out 4 times a week. As a special stipulation, practice and work outs with the team don’t count for me. So I have been working out alot after practices and at night here in my dorm, and hopefully when I get back on the court again all my hard work will show.

So what am I up to today now that I don’t have anything to do for school? I am going to rehab a 12, practice at 1, then get a fresh cut from my man Sly for tomorrow’s game. After that? Hopefully finishing Season 1 of 24!

SONG OF THE DAY: Don’t Hate by Evidence & Defari (My cousin)

What am I Playing in these days?

Other than the standard team Nike’s our school gets, I have been playing in the Hyperdunks and the Zoom Lebron VI’s (Pictures below). Kobe and Lebron are my two favorite superstars in the League (along with my boy Tyson Chandler and Rasheed Wallace), so I have to support them both by wearing there kicks. In terms of comfort, you can’t go wrong with the hyperdunks, but the Lebron’s are surprisingly comfortable as well. Currently, I wear the red Hyperdunks with our red away jerseys, white and black Lebron’s with the white jerseys, and McDonald’s Hyperdunks with our black alternate jersey.
